IPTV is the best deal!  Streams for us is the basic low cost option, but there are tons of others out there.

Good. Get rid of Derringer here. Toss that show on. Who cares if rating drop a notch, it's still a lot cheaper to run.

Evanov radio group should hire her and model after their Ottawa Jewel station in another market.
That would be smart.

That's an excellent point, but I think the frequencies would have to go up for a renewal study first.
There may be many who would like to have those frequencies for future use.

I have not, since I don't like being forced to put all my internet and TV eggs into one basket (as the saying goes, and yes, I know I have everything with Rogers, but I can drop their internet for another company and still keep Rogers Cable)

Anyway, I came across this, which seems to have good mention for Vmedia, but also for other options out there:

What happened to the argument that CBC should never be forced to compete head on with CTV, City TV and Global?
I thought the stronger argument was that those networks would rather pay taxes for CBC to NOT outbid them for programming content.
(to name one show, how happy would Global be if CBC outbid them for NCIS, then proceeded from there to steal other shows...)

Long story short, CBC should be using tax dollars to maintain good content that people want to watch without intentionally biting into the profits of the other guys, give or take a show.

That all being said, if Family Feud Canada is beating out Jeopardy in the ratings, good for them!
If not, then I am still glad it is there to watch, and I look forward to MORE game shows on CBC.

Since I'm working from home I have to have news networks on all through my shift.  I'm noticing that the ads are becoming more and more repetitious.... but by far the worst is CP-24.  I know they have more... but it seems that they basically have three or four sponsors with ads repeating sometimes twice or three times in the same break.
Harold the jewelry buyer... Oliver the gold buyer...Prezler law etc... they run pretty well back to back to back.
Over on CTV they have endless showings of the monkey-faced guy who sells private health insurance.  I can't even look at these ads anymore... even hearing their voices, so I keep the sound down most of the time.  Is all this because nobody is out getting new ads because of COVID 19, or do they just not care?  It's a form of psychological abuse.

You forgot RCC...whatever the heck that is!

Surely people will tune in Dave Trafford?  Long before 680 News, 30 minutes to midnight was an excellent news program on AM 640 (1992) hosted by this very gentleman!
He's been in radio for quite some time so I'm sure he can put on a good show...hopefully not too far to the right of the scale, but still  a great radio show!

Yes.
Plus also last time around there was no hook up with Amazon or anyone else either.
& It's not just movies. It's news content.
Shaw & Amazon might not want City (Citynews) content added to the current choices available (Global News) on Amazon Prime.

The $5 fee may be more intended to steer people to CityNews content, not Global news, so I see why my opinion can indeed be a problem in today's situation vs yesterday's Shomi.

But where is all the money coming from to pay all the players?
Fans are not allowed to buy tickets to a game.
Then again, if Television is the only place where you're allowed to see the game do ratings go through the roof? Do ad rates make up for the difference?? I just don't understand how all this works...???

It also depends on how contract right go. If the Jays are contracted to air strictly on the Fan, then 680 will most likely stop the news to fit another sport in.
(a rare exception, which normally only happens during playoffs)

640 could also pick up some games but I'm not sure how that would work if they don't have any current arrangements. They had Hockey rights may years ago, but not currently.

Could NT 1010 pick up some games?
