CHFI The Big Winner Again In Latest Radio Ratings

CHFI is the big winner in the rating period from Nov. 27-Feb. 25th. They especially hit it big with women 25-54 and yes, all Xmas music strikes again. They actually increased their adults 12+ from 12.4 last fall to 14.6 in the new book. Longtime rival CHUM-FM wasn't even close, eking out only a 6.6, although still strong with women.

CBC Radio 1 continues a nice run, up slightly to 10.6.

And the board's favourite whipping boys, CFRB And CFMJ, both had mixed results. 'RB's overall numbers were down slightly to 7.2 from a 7.6. (In fact they're now outrated by Classical 96.3) And Global News Radio 640 moved up almost unnoticed, winding up with a 1.7 instead of last book's 1.6.

Boom went bust, sinking from 7.6 to just 6.5. And The Fan has fewer of them, coming in with just 1.6, down from 2.1.

I can see why CHFI deserves it.  VARIETY OF MUSIC, good personalities and a decent amount of commercials.

Chum FM's playlist is like eating rice cakes.

Re: CHFI The Big Winner Again In Latest Radio Ratings

Interesting tidbit from this mornings BD newsletter.  (Wish I could figure out how to subscribe to the Eastern Canada version but anyway...)

NuVoodoo Media Services says its latest Ratings Prospects Study shows smart speaker ownership has nearly doubled in the last six months. Of 3,041 respondents, ages 14-54, across all PPM markets, one-third now report having a smart speaker at home. That’s up from less than a quarter in the previous study last August. NuVoodoo further found that 48 per cent of likely PPM participants now own a smart speaker.
