Jazz FM is bringing back 2 former hosts...

As of this Wednesday from 9 am-1 pm, Heather Bambrick is doing mid-days on Jazz FM and Jaymz Bee is back Thursday nights from 9-Midnight doing "Jazz in the City"...

It looks as is today was Ross Porter's last show...his contract ended and won't be renewed.

The new management/board of directors is taking action and there does seem to be a renewed vibe.

These are two Toronto jazz stalwarts. Glad to see!

You have to wonder about the future of Jazzcast, the internet-only station that features several former 91.1 announcers.  Jazzcast makes no money and hosts volunteer their time.  With the recent success of the Jazz FM fundraiser, its possible more of them will resurface on 91.1.

Is this the grumpy old raspy sounding man usually on Saturday mornings?  If so, thank goodness.  What a dreadful creepy voice.

Good to hear they are back.  I am looking forward to a live voice in the morning.  Whenever that happens.

Great. Bill King can go on and on about how awesome he is.

Isn't he the ivory-tickling co-host on Woloshyn's weekly fireside chat?  You can appear on competing stations (not that I ever listen to Jazz)?

Bill King coming back.  Now that makes Bill a first I think for Toronto radio.  He will be on Jazz FM, two weekly shows on CIUT and CFRB.  That never could have happened in the past.  BTW who is doing the hiring?  The new board?

Great news. Hoping we hear more of Walter Venafro going forward - including having him back in his old Saturday afternoon slot.

You may have more current information than I do, however, my understanding is that his contract goes until sometime in May.  Whether he's heard on air between now and then may be another matter.

It brings great joy to hear that the team that made Jazz FM is returning, while also evolving with many of the added new 1 hour specialty shows. I wish this would happen at other stations too.
