Steven Bochco Dead At 74

Nearly everyone knows the names of the stars of classic TV shows. But it's rare when almost everyone also knows the name of a show's creator or producer. Steven Bochco was one of those rarities. He helped change the face of modern TV drama in the 80s, originating and writing such shows as "Hill St. Blues," "L.A. Law," and perhaps most controversial of all, "NYPD Blue."

His death comes even as there are rumours about yet another reboot, an L.A. Law revival. If it happens, it will have to go on without him. He succumbed to leukemia at just 74.
